Adipose Tissue Quantification

Product Overview

The Indica Labs Vacuole Quantification software is a multi-purpose tool that can be used for quantitating lipids in brown and white adipose tissue and can also be used to quantitate lipid droplets in liver tissue. In either case, fat vacuoles are identified, separated, and quantitated on a per cell basis. The image above, shows the analysis of brown fat cells in adiposetissue which has been stained with haematoxylin and laminin. The algorithm detects the nuclei (marked blue) and lipid droplets (marked red).

Among other things, the software reports average vacuole area, diameter, and perimeter, total nuclear count, total nuclear area, and total vacuole area. It is also generates a histogram representing the frequency of lipid vacuoles within specified diameter ranges.

The vacuole quantification tool integrates seamlessly into the   HALO™ platform which is compatible with a number of third party systems and   file formats.
