The Indica Labs Object Counting software can be used to count and measures micro-hemorrhages in brightfield whole-slide images. This tool has a number of unique features which make it particularly well suited for counting micro-hemorrhages. It features an edge exclusion capability which allows the user to ignore the false positive events that typically occur along the edge of the tissue section. The tool also has the ability to connect objects so that neighboring particles can be linked counted as a single event. In the example above, the software counts micro-hemorrhages in rodent brain stained with Prussian Blue.
In addition to reporting the total micro-hemorrhage event count, this tool reports the total event area, average event size, and average event staining density. Optionally the user can also generate a complete table of all objects in the section with detailed statistics describing each individual object.
