The Indica Labs Layer Thickness tool facilitates semi-automatic measurement of layer thickness in tissues, such as the retina shown here. The tool automatically and objectively measures distance between two boundaries defined by the user making this an ideal tool for quick and accurate measurement of layer thicknesses in retinal cross sections, as well as gastrointestinal epithelia and epidermis.
In the example shown, the upper and lower boundaries of the outer nuclear layer of the retina have been annotated (in yellow). The outer nuclear layer measurements calculated by the tool are shown with green ruler bars. The user can control the frequency of measurements between the two annotation regions and HALO outputs each measurement as a separate annotation so that average thickness can be easily calculated.
