Glomeruli Podocyte Quantification

Product Overview

Podocyte loss is an early feature of glomerular kidney disease.1 Here we use the Glomeruli IHC Quantification Tool to quantify glomeruli and podocytes in kidney sections.

In this example, glomeruli are identified using a cytoplasmic marker which stains the glomeruli and is highly expressed in podocytes. The glomeruli IHC quantification tool identifies the boundaries of the glomeruli (in yellow) and the cells within. Podocytes which express high levels of the cytoplasmic marker are green in the mark-up image. All other cell types in the glomerulus are blue in the mark-up image. The algorithm quantifies each glomerulus, outputting area of glomerulus and cellular composition, number of podocytes and non-podocytes within.

The intended use for the glomeruli IHC quantification software is for research purposes only. The tool integrates seamlessly into the  HALO™ platform which is compatible with a number of third party systems and  file formats.
