The Position

This is a hybrid sales and administrative position which would suit a BSc level candidate with a background in biological sciences (or related) or biomedical science or a person in a limited inside sales role (potentially UK based) looking for increased scope, larger territory and greater responsibility for the European market. A positive outlook and engaging personality are essential as the role involves direct communications with existing and prospective customers as well as integration within the existing positive and motivated European team. An interest in technology (scientific software and AI) would be desirable. The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive growth in the European territory through close collaboration with the existing Field Application Scientists and Sales teams. The position involves the following essential sales administration functions:

Customer Engagement

  • Cold emails/calls outreach to engage new prospects
  • Campaign creation to acquire new prospects
  • Re-engage with previous leads (warm outreach) or touch base with existing customers to maintain and nurture positive relationships established between Indica Labs and our customer base
  • Manage inbound enquiries (primarily via email) for the European region and co-ordinate appropriate first line response (e.g. online software demonstration, webinar invitation, or face to face meeting)
  • Perform initial qualification of customer needs using WebEx meetings and work with Field Application Scientists to ensure these needs are met

Marketing Activities

  • Co-ordinate and participate in European conferences working with Field Application Scientists (FAS) and Sales teams
  • Build market intelligence of digital pathology in Europe and work with USA based marketing colleagues to optimise marketing efforts (content, digital and email marketing) here in Europe
  • Penetrate new markets (Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Middle East and Asia) via warm outreach and information gathering

Sales & Database Management

  • Mining scientific and social media platforms such as Linkedin, Pubmed, Scileads and other databases to find new prospects
  • Prospect/database research: Develop prospect database within different target markets and establish strategies to reach them
  • Qualify new leads, issue quotes, report back on quotations made and outcomes
  • Keep the customer database (CRM) up-to-date, importing new data, updating records and performing the necessary cross checks
  • Assist in the preparation of sales statistics & reports
  • Perform ongoing account management duties for assigned accounts
  • Perform account profiling in order to cross-sell or upsell additional products

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • BSc in Biology or related subjects
  • Experience in a fast-paced sales (B2C/B2B) environment
  • Limited familiarity with image analysis/scientific software
  • Ability to travel across Europe up to 20% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a passion for providing superior customer service

Desired Skills

  • Understanding of drug development workflow
  • Basic IT/network knowledge
  • Proficiency in second European Language
  • Previous inside sales or B2B marketing experience
